Guitar String Notes
Can anyone please tell me what the open-string notes on an accoustic guitar (6 string) are supposed to be?
i have just got accoustic guitar second hand as am a beginner but is out of tune i really do know much about tuning it i just about know that the bottom string is string 1 so please help buy saying string 1 is A and string 2 is d please help
so is the thickest string 6 and the thin string 1
String 1 as you know it, is the thinnest string and is called the top string as it is the highest note (even though it is at the bottom).
String 6 is the thickest and is called the bottom string as it is the lowest note (even tho its at the top).
There are lots of different possible tunings for guitars and as you progress you may want to experiment. But for now, tune your guitar to the following “Standard Tuning”:
String 6 is tuned to E
String 5 is tuned to A
String 4 is tuned to D
String 3 is tuned to G
String 2 is tuned to B
String 1 is tuned to e – yes the same note as string 6, but a lot higher pitch
