Is playing the irish flute in D similar to the C concert flute?
I already play flute. Is the fingering etc basically the same on a basic keyless Irish flute?
not a whistle…Irish wooden flute.
I play flute, too, and I went to Ireland with my school band this year and bought an Irish flute. For the most part, it’s similar, but for some flats and sharps, you’ll have to half-hole certain holes or use other combinations (it’s more similar to the recorder, which is also really similar to the concert flute).
